Sewing Project Wishlist

Hello dear blog!

Right now I’m getting sewing withdrawals. Is that even a thing? I’m defiantly very stressed right now with all the assignments and tests from Uni. This will all go away in a few weeks thankfully. I honestly did not expect to be this stressed so early on in the semester.

My final year begins…

*Originally posted 24th Feb 2015*

Today I am back to Uni for my final year of nursing school. Mixed emotions happening. I’m mostly excited as the end is near and I’m over doing nothing for 3months+! But I’m also nervous about the workload this semester. Staying organised will be my main priority!

Petrillo Bag Project

Whenever I write up posts on patterns that I’ve created, I try and remember about how I came across the pattern. This time, I have no recollection about how I came across the pattern for this bag. Perhaps it was some late night Googling?

Today I am showing you the ‘Petrillo Bag‘ by Sara Lawson a.k.a. Sew Sweetness. My favourite project this summer. All fabrics are from Spotlight, however the lining was from years ago.

Straight Stitch Society Have It All Wallet – A Pattern Review

I recently came across this cute purse pattern by Straight Stitch Society on Hart’s Fabric Blog. I thought I would give it ago myself. I purchased the downloadable pattern here. The pattern is fairly straight forward except that it does not use any metric units (centimetres or millimetres) which is what we use here in Australia. Very annoying. The illustrated diagrams do defiantly help.

Book Bargain!

*Originally posted 27th Jan 2015*

Shout-out to Spotlight for having both these books for only $4.99 each! I was in Spotlight to buy some press stud closures for a purse I was making (stay tuned for that post!) and I wanted to checkout what books they had. (I had previously seen these in another store in the sale section for $4.99 but unfortunately where still their full price) 😦  I was so ecstatic to see that this time they were actually on sale! Major bargain! Even the cashier was surprised!

December Favourites

Screen Shot 2015-03-15 at 5.09.51 pm

  1. Bronzer from Sleek Makeup Face Form Kit. With having very pale skin, I don’t have the best relationship with bronzers. However, the bronzer in this kit (I have it in light shade) is perfect! I don’t look like I smudged dirt on my face. Its perfect for looking “bronze” in the summer weather we are experiencing here in Australia.
  2. Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencils. These pencils are basically eyeshadow on a stick for the lazy person/on the run. They have a creamy texture and glide on your eyelids effortlessly. Nyx has a range of colours. My favourite are “Sparkle Nude” and “Yogurt”.
  3. Benefit They’re Real! Mascara. I have a love/hate relationship with this mascara and this month I have loved it! I don’t think it gives me the look like I’m wearing fake lashes. It does a good job lengthening, volumising, lifting & separating my lashes.
  4. The Body Shop Frosted Cranberry Body Polish. This a body exfoliator that is limited edition to the festive collections. It is gentle enough to use everyday leaving your skin smelling like cranberries! Like any exfoliator, it removes dead skin cells, leaving skin feeling softer & smoother.
  5. Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear SPF 30. This summer I haven’t been feeling the need to wear my normal foundation. I have had this product for a while  but I didn’t use it in the winter as it is to dark for me, but its a good summer time option. Its a 3-in-1 product: sunscreen, moisturiser & sheer foundation. I’ve been using it almost daily to nourish, protect and prevent any premature ageing to my skin that is caused by UV exposure.
